About Lorem Ipsum Generator
Lorem Ipsum has been the standard placeholder text of the printing and design industries since the 1500s, derived from a work of Cicero. Its value is that it looks like prose without being readable as prose.
This generator produces any number of paragraphs, sentences or words, with control over the classic opening and optional HTML wrapping for pasting straight into a template.
How Lorem Ipsum Generator works in your browser
Placeholder text is generated from a Latin-like word list with a natural spread of word lengths, as paragraphs, sentences or words. The classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" opening is on by default and can be turned off.
Output can be wrapped in paragraph tags for pasting straight into a template.
When to use it
- Filling a page mockup so reviewers judge layout rather than copy.
- Testing how a component handles long paragraphs.
- Seeding placeholder content in a CMS during development.
