About Rotate PDF

A rotated scan is unreadable on a phone and prints wrong, and most viewers only rotate the view rather than saving the change.

This tool applies the rotation to the document itself in 90 degree steps, for every page or a selected range, and gives you a corrected file to download.

How Rotate PDF works in your browser

The PDF is loaded with pdf-lib in your browser and the rotation attribute of each selected page is changed in 90-degree steps. The document is then saved as a new file.

Because rotation is stored in the file rather than only in a viewer, every PDF reader and printer honours it. The page content itself is not re-rendered, so text and images stay exactly as they were.

When to use it

  • Fixing scanned pages that came out sideways.
  • Rotating a single landscape table inside a portrait report.
  • Correcting a document before sending it to print.

Frequently asked questions

Why do scanned pages come out sideways?

Scanners record the orientation they fed the paper in, which often does not match how the document reads.

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes, give a page range and only those pages are rotated.

Is the rotation permanent?

It is written into the saved file as a page rotation attribute, so every viewer will honour it.
